In April 2023, he received a phone call pretending to be a public security officer, claiming that a bank card under his name was suspected of money laundering and child trafficking, and asked Wang to transfer all the money under his name to his other bank card. After the operation, the amount in the card was transferred, resulting in a loss of nearly 300,000 yuan. The loss has not yet been recovered. Later, Wang applied to the insurance company for compensation, but was refused compensation on the grounds that his actions were gross negligence and resulted in fraud. Wang then sued the court.

The court held that the insurance company's definition of "telecommunications fraud" was too narrow and did not use obvious signs to remind the exemption matters. Therefore, the terms had no effect on Wang, and the situation of telecommunications fraud should be interpreted according to the usual understanding. Based on this, the court ruled that the insurance company would pay Wang 100,000 yuan in insurance premiums, and the original judgment was upheld in the second instance.
